Midlothian Medical and Sports Center – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

F.A.Q

What kind of practice is Midlothian Medical and Sports Center?
We are a regenerative orthopedic medicine practice that specializes in helping the body promote natural healing of joint and soft tissue injuries. Our integrated team of medical providers, rehabilitation specialists, and chiropractic professionals work together to address musculoskeletal issues without surgery or long-term reliance on medications
What happens at my first visit?
Your first visit includes a detailed orthopedic consultation and exam. Imaging such as X-rays may be performed if necessary. After reviewing your results, our team will create a personalized care plan designed to help you recover strength, mobility, and comfort
What is Regenerative Orthopedic Medicine?
Regenerative orthopedic medicine aims to support and enhance the body's natural ability to heal injured tendons, ligaments, cartilage, muscles, and joints. These therapies are designed to help with degenerative conditions, sports injuries, and other orthopedic problems, and may reduce the need for surgery
What is PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy uses a concentrated portion of your own blood platelets. These platelets are rich in natural growth factors that can help promote tissue repair and regeneration, reduce inflammation, and speed up recovery from joint, tendon, and ligament injuries
What are Stem Cells and Wharton's Jelly?
Stem cells are unique cells capable of becoming different types of tissue like bone, cartilage, or muscle. We offer regenerative therapies derived from sources like Wharton's Jelly, which is rich in mesenchymal stem cells that can support healing by encouraging tissue repair and modulating inflammation
What are Exosomes?
Exosomes are tiny vesicles that carry important signaling molecules to damaged tissues. They help reduce inflammation, enhance tissue repair, and support joint and soft tissue recovery. Exosomes are not cells themselves but act as powerful messengers to stimulate healing
What is A2M (Alpha-2 Macroglobulin) and how can it help with arthritis?
Alpha-2 Macroglobulin (A2M) is a naturally occurring protein in your blood that works by neutralizing the harmful enzymes responsible for cartilage breakdown in joints. A2M therapy can help slow the progression of osteoarthritis, reduce joint pain, and encourage the body's natural repair processes. It offers a promising, minimally invasive option for those seeking to maintain joint health and avoid major surgeries
Can I schedule just a chiropractic adjustment?
We do not accept new patients for chiropractic-only services.
At Midlothian Medical and Sports Center, chiropractic therapy is only provided if prescribed by our medical team as part of an overall treatment plan following your initial medical evaluation. We do not accept walk-in chiropractic patients. Our focus is on medically integrated, comprehensive care to address the root causes of your symptoms
What conditions do you commonly treat?
We commonly help patients with:

• Osteoarthritis and joint pain

• Meniscus tears

• Tendonitis and ligament injuries

• Degenerative disc disease

• Sciatica and nerve inflammation

• Muscle strains and sports injuries

• Plantar fasciitis

• Labral and cartilage tears

How is your practice different from a traditional orthopedic office?
Unlike traditional orthopedic offices that often focus on surgery or medications, we specialize in promoting natural healing through regenerative therapies. Our treatments are designed to help patients recover more naturally, potentially avoid surgery, and regain mobility and quality of life.
